Ok so Community service means something else over here.. (like instead of Prison you get community service).. was Jam naughty?
@mrjones -pahahahaha, that really made me laugh! Erm, community service here means (along with your definition) the year of working in the community hospitals that all Medical students have to do before their degree is considered complete.
As per wikipedia: "Following successful completion of study, all South African medical graduates need to complete a two-year internship as well as a further year of community service in order to register with the Health Professions Council, in order to practice as a doctor in South Africa."
But I think it sounds *a lot* like the same thing actually! Paha, funny :)
